With Analysis & Verification: What Can Be Achieved

When you upload data for which you want to know the weather impact—such as product sales numbers, customer counts, or electricity usage—we automatically create a predictive model and return the results. The weather data used in the predictive model utilizes Weathernews' high-resolution data. The prediction timing returns results based on the previous day (1 day prior).

What You Can Confirm from Analysis & Verification Results

  • Prediction accuracy when weather data is used versus when it is not used, and a comparison of these accuracies
  • The importance of weather data within the predictive model that utilizes weather data

Use Cases

Number of Visitors/Attendees

"There's significant variation in visitor numbers depending on the event date. Besides the day of the week and event content, could weather also be a factor?" Simply by registering visitor and attendee data in CSV format, you can use AI to verify the impact of weather on visitor numbers. By understanding trends such as 'visitor numbers decrease when it rains' or 'visitor numbers decrease when it's too hot even on sunny days,' you can minimize sales decline by taking measures such as lowering prices to attract customers on days when visitor numbers are expected to decrease.

Outdoor Event Venue Attendance

Accuracy Comparison With and Without Weather Data

For example, the analysis results of outdoor event venue attendance shown in the figure above demonstrate that predictions using weather elements ('Predicted values (with weather)') show values closer to actual results, and the error indicators shown in the bar graph also show that predictions using weather elements ('With') have smaller error values and better accuracy.

Product Demand

"Best-selling products change every day. Besides price and promotions, does weather also have an impact?" Simply by registering product sales data in CSV format, you can use AI to verify the impact of weather on sales numbers. By understanding trends such as 'steamed pork buns become more popular when temperatures drop' or 'soft drink sales increase on humid days,' you can optimize product ordering quantities.

Steamed Pork Bun Sales

Accuracy Comparison With and Without Weather Data

For example, the analysis results of steamed pork bun sales shown in the figure above demonstrate that predictions using weather elements ('Predicted values (with weather)') show values closer to actual results, and the error indicators shown in the bar graph also show that predictions using weather elements ('With') have smaller error values and better accuracy.

Web Advertising

"Even with the same advertisement, click rates and conversions vary greatly from day to day. Is it the day of the week? Or is it the creative? Could weather be a factor?" Simply by registering your company's click and conversion data in CSV format, you can use AI to verify user reactions based on weather conditions. By understanding trends such as 'entertainment ads tend to perform better on rainy days' or 'appeals for cold beverages are effective when temperatures rise,' you can optimize advertising timing and creatives.

Beverage Advertisement Conversions and Weather Impact

For example, the analysis results of beverage advertisement conversions shown in the figure above indicate that temperature significantly affects conversions. By estimating conversion numbers using temperature, more accurate predictions can be expected.

Call Center

"Customer inquiry numbers vary by day and time. Could the content of inquiries such as breakdowns and accidents be related to weather?" Simply by registering call volume data in CSV format, you can use AI to verify the impact of weather on call numbers. By understanding trends such as 'call volumes increase on heavy rain days' or 'call volumes rise when temperatures reach freezing risk levels,' you can adjust staff numbers in advance and establish a comprehensive response system.

Call Volume and Weather Impact

For example, the analysis results of call center call volumes shown in the figure above indicate that precipitation significantly affects call numbers. By predicting call volumes using precipitation data, more accurate forecasts can be expected.
