Opening the Door to the North American Market — Insights Brought Back from Miami

March 24, 2026 Weathernews

“In an era when AI is transforming the skies, what can we deliver?”
From March 9 to 11, in Miami, Florida, Weathernews’ aviation weather team stepped into the North American market.

Why Miami, and Why Now?

North America hosts one of the largest aviation networks in the world. To open the door to this market, the Aviation Weather Division of Weathernews participated in the Aircraft IT Conference. This conference, which brings together airlines, MRO providers, OEMs, leasing companies, and CAMOs, is more than just an exhibition. It is a place where the industry’s present and its future intersect. Following Bangkok in October 2025 and now Miami, Weathernews' global strategy continues to move forward—expanding from Asia across the Pacific and steadily into the Americas.

What the Conference Revealed: The Reality of the North American Market

This time we attended as visitors rather than exhibitors. However, we did not participate as mere observers, but rather as strategic scouts.

Three Missions 1. Market exploration: Identify business opportunities across the Americas and establish initial connections with potential customers. 2. Competitive observation: Directly observe how other companies present their solutions and conduct their demonstrations, in order to learn the North American style of approach. 3. Market sensing: Gain a firsthand understanding of the atmosphere, needs, and trends shaping the North American aviation IT market.

Key Outcomes from the Conference

・Dialogue with Airlines — Building Initial Connections During the conference, we participated in several case study sessions. Through direct conversations with airline representatives, we were able to hear in real time about the operational challenges and needs faced by North American airlines.

“How do you assess the reliability of forecasts?”“How do you decide which model to rely on when multiple models are available?”These discussions revealed that many of the operational challenges faced in North America are, in fact, common across the global aviation industry.

・Technical Discussions with Aviation Software Companies — A Future Connected by APIs We also exchanged ideas with several aviation software companies regarding proposals for API-based data integration. The discussions explored the possibility of seamlessly integrating Weathernews’ high-resolution, high-accuracy proprietary forecast data into partner platforms.

Data alone does not create value. Delivering it to the right system, at the right time—that is the next step.

Toward the Next Stage — Expanding Our Presence in the Americas

Our participation in Miami was not the finish line, but the starting point.

・We will develop the initial connections established at the conference into concrete business opportunities. ・We aim to secure customers in the Americas in the near future. ・Looking ahead to next year, we are also considering exhibiting with a booth in North America to further expand our presence.

Seeds were planted in Bangkok and began to sprout in Miami. The next step is to deliver Weathernews forecasts to the skies over North America.
